Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 2 cloves of garlic (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2: Combine the Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, add the ground turkey, egg, almond flour, garlic, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, butter, and salt.
Step 3: Mix Until Incorporated
Mix the ingredients together until they are well incorporated. I find it easiest to do this with a fork or your hands.
Step 4: Prepare the Baking Sheet
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
Step 5: Form the Patties
Shape the meat mixture into 5 burger patties and place on the prepared baking sheet. I like to do this by forming the mixture into a ball with my hands and then flattening it on the prepared baking sheet. From there, I try to shape the patties into a nice, round circle. I also make them a little flatter than I'd like, knowing that they will shrink a bit when cooking in the oven.
Step 6: Bake the Burgers
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 25 minutes or until the burgers reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
Step 7: Heat the Skillet
Towards the end of the burgers' bake time, heat a large skillet over medium/low heat. Once hot, add olive oil.
Step 8: Sear for a Golden Crust
Once they are done baking, remove the burgers from the oven and transfer to the oiled skillet. Sear the burgers for about 2 minutes on each side until they are a nice golden, crispy brown.
Step 9: Serve and Enjoy
Serve on a bun with your favorite burger toppings and condiments. Enjoy!
Notes
Tip: Form the burgers a little thinner than you'd like because they will shrink and puff up a bit when baking in the oven.
